    Our assessment revealed:

    • Roof water was being discharged at the foundation corner. One of the downspouts was discharging roof water directly beside the foundation, allowing rainwater to soak into the surrounding soil instead of being carried farther away. 
    • The crack extended through both the interior concrete block wall and the exterior stucco, confirming the damage affected the wall itself rather than only the exterior finish.

    When a downspout discharges roof water too close to the home, the surrounding soil can remain saturated for extended periods. Over time, this added moisture increases lateral pressure against foundation walls and can contribute to cracking. 

    Because the wall remained structurally repairable, our team recommended reinforcing it with 19 carbon fiber straps to stabilize the affected wall and help prevent the crack from worsening over time.

    Solution: Carbon Fiber Straps Installation 

    Once our assessment identified the cause of the foundation wall cracks, we developed a repair plan that addressed both the existing damage and the conditions contributing to it. Instead of recommending a full wall replacement, we reinforced the affected wall with an engineered carbon fiber strap system consisting of 19 straps designed to stabilize the crack and help resist future movement.

    After the epoxy was applied, 19 carbon fiber straps were installed at the designated reinforcement locations. Each strap was carefully embedded into the epoxy and bonded directly to the concrete block wall in accordance with the engineered repair plan, creating a permanent reinforcement system designed to resist future wall movement. 

    Step 5: Final Inspection and Project Completion 

    Before completing the project, our team inspected every carbon fiber strap to verify the reinforcement system had been installed according to the engineered repair specifications. The work area was cleaned, leaving the homeowner with a stabilized foundation wall that could be painted to match the surrounding surface if desired.
